WORK ASSISTANTS : Twelve Posts :
Pay Band (PB-1) : Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay : Rs.1800/- ; TME : Rs.14,108/- ; HQ : Mumbai.
Qualification : S.S.C. OR equivalent.
Age : Below 28 years for Unreserved candidates, below 31 years for Other Backward Class, below 33 years for Scheduled Tribe candidates and below 38 years for Persons with Disabilities.
1) Two Posts [1-Unreserved and 1-Persons with Disabilities] ;
Experience : Minimum one year experience of cleaning jobs including cleaning of public places,
toilets and bathrooms in a reputed organization.
2) Four Posts [3-Scheduled Tribe & 1-Persons with Disabilities]
Experience : Minimum one year experience in Plumbing/Masonry/Mechanical/Carpentry.
Candidate should possess good health and will be required to assist senior Tradesman.
3) Four Posts [3-Other Backward Class, 1-Scheduled Tribe]
Experience : Minimum one year experience in Hotel/Canteen/Club in handling work like cutting,
chopping and cleaning vegetable and meats or cleaning of cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils.
4) Two Posts [Reserved for Other Backward Class]
Experience : Minimum 1 year experience as Attendant in a large and reputed organization.
Desirable : (i) Ability to read, write and understand English. (ii) Familiarity with the use of
personal computers and their applications. (iii) Experience in filing, handling files and
maintenance of records, dispatch etc.
TME : Total monthly emoluments.
Selected candidates under Sr.No. 1, 2 & 3 will be required to work in shifts.
Higher starting salary could be considered to deserving candidates. Candidates are liable to be transferred to other Centres/Field Stations of the Institute, if required.
Prescribed age should not exceed as on January 1, 2012.
Selected candidates for the above posts will be governed by the New Pension Scheme applicable to the Central Government service [unless they are already governed by CCS (Pension) Rules 1972]
Posts for general category (unreserved) – SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates can also apply.
Candidates applying for reserved post for persons with disability should be suffering from not less than 40% of the relevant disability for the benefit of reservation. Candidates will have to submit a Disability Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format.

Applicants in Government/Semi-Government/Public Sector Undertaking must apply through proper channel. Applicants applying for post reserved for OBC should submit a valid copy of the non-creamy layer certificate issued by competent authority in the Govt. of India format (The recommended format is available at http://www.tifr.res.in/positions). Applicants who do not send their applications through proper channel and applicants who do not submit a valid copy of OBC certificate in the Govt. of India format, if called, will be interviewed only upon submission of an NOC from the competent authority and/or valid OBC certificate in Govt. of India format, prior to the interview.
Outstation SC/ST candidates called for interview will be paid single second class return train fare for the journey by the shortest route from the nearest railway station of their place of residence to the place of interview, however, they will have to bear the fare for the first 30 kms. both ways on the production of photocopies of onward and return journey tickets.
The Institute reserves the right to restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement. Mere fulfilling the essential and desirable qualifications will not entitle an applicant to be called for interview. More vacancies may also be filled through this advertisement.
